Hon. Gitonga Mukunji Hosts Embu Wasanii Sacco Leadership, Commits to Supporting Creative Industry

Hon. Gitonga Mukunji welcomed the leadership of Embu Wasanii Sacco, led by Chairman Charles Mwaura Marvelous, for a courtesy call to discuss the growth and future of the creative sector in the county.
Established to empower youth engaged in various artistic disciplines, the Sacco has experienced remarkable growth over the past year. It provides a structured financial platform for artists to save, invest, and access loans, fostering sustainable careers in the creative industry.
During the meeting, the Sacco leadership briefed Hon. Mukunji on their upcoming Strategic Plan Launch, scheduled for Friday, 7th February 2025, at Winter Villa Resort. The launch aims to outline a clear roadmap for expanding opportunities, strengthening financial support for members, and enhancing creative industry development in Embu.
Hon. Mukunji commended the Sacco’s efforts in uplifting young artists, acknowledging their role in not only creating employment but also in preserving culture and inspiring the youth.
“The creative industry is a vital pillar of economic growth, and we must ensure our artists have the financial resources and support to thrive. I assure the Embu Wasanii Sacco of our full commitment to strengthening and promoting the music and arts sector in Embu,” he stated.
As the county continues to embrace talent-driven economic empowerment, Hon. Mukunji reiterated the need for collaborative efforts between the government, private sector, and community-based organizations to ensure artists receive adequate support, training, and market access.
