NTHAMBO DAY SECONDARY SCHOOL NEARS COMPLETION OF MODERN TWO-STOREY FACILITY IN KIRIMARI WARD

Kirimari Ward, Manyatta Constituency – May 2025
Development in the education sector continues to gain momentum in Manyatta Constituency, as the construction of a modern two-storey building at Nthambo Day Secondary School in Kirimari Ward reaches 80% completion.
The project, a key investment under the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF), is designed to enhance learning facilities and expand access to quality education for hundreds of students in the region.
The new structure will feature a 300-student capacity multipurpose hall, four fully equipped classrooms, and two science laboratories, significantly improving the school’s capacity to serve its growing student population.

During an inspection visit to the site, Hon. Gitonga Mukunji, MP for Manyatta Constituency, commended the progress and reaffirmed his office’s commitment to transforming learning institutions across the constituency.
“We are proud of the milestones being achieved at Nthambo Day Secondary School,” said Hon. Mukunji. “This facility will not only provide modern, spacious learning areas but also ensure that our students have access to science and technology resources that are vital for today’s education.”
The multipurpose hall is expected to serve a variety of functions, including assemblies, indoor sports, community meetings, and school events, while the new laboratories will support science-based learning and practicals.
Hon. Mukunji emphasized that the investment is part of a broader vision to ensure total transformation of schools in Manyatta, through infrastructural development, access to learning materials, and improved teaching conditions.
“Our goal is clear: every child in Manyatta should have the opportunity to learn in a safe, well-equipped, and inspiring environment,” he added.
The community has warmly welcomed the development, noting that the expanded facilities will greatly reduce congestion and enhance both academic and co-curricular performance.
With the construction nearing completion, the new building is expected to be ready for use in the coming term, marking another step forward in bridging the education gap and empowering the next generation.
